Q How much will my reservation cost?

Q How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?
A At least 3 months in advance prior to the event and you can also reserve up to 1 year in advance. All reservations must be made in person and are on a first come first serve basis. We do not do rentals of halls on Sundays.
Q How far in advance do I contact you if I want to cancel my reservation?
A Any cancellation or change of facility or date must be made no less than thirty (30) days before the event in writing to the Parks & Recreation office. A cancellation fee of 25% of the total cost or $50 whichever is greater, will be charged to the facility user. If cancellation is made less than thirty (30) days facility user forfeits all fees.
Q How do I make a reservation?
A Reservations can only be made in person at the Parks & Recreation office. All applications for reservation must be on official forms provided by the Department of Municipal Services. Applications are not considered approved until the applicant has paid all fees in full and official permit has been signed by staff.
Q How do I make a payment?
A Parks & Recreation accepts the following: Cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard or Discover.
Q Do you allow alcohol at all of your facilities?
A Alcohol is only allowed at the Senior Citizen Center and Patio Activity area.
Q Can I reserve a picnic area?
A Yes, reservations for picnic areas must be made at least 15 working days prior to their event. We do not give refunds for picnic areas only a letter of credit that can be used for another rental or a department program. The credit must be used within one year of the date issued.
Q Are City Facilities open on holidays?
A All City Facilities will be closed on the following observed holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr., President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Day after Christmas Day.
Q Can I have a moonbounce/petting zoo at a park?
A Yes, there is a fee for the bouncer and or petting zoo permit and the City requires a $1,000,000 Certificate of Liability Insurance naming the City of Montebello as an additional insured per item. Bouncers/petting zoo are allowed at most parks except for Ashiya Park. Facility user must make arrangements for bouncers/petting zoo at time of picnic area reservations, the Department does not do add ons. There are no refunds for moonbouncers/petting zoo. Please note, you must have a reservation in order to obtain the permits for a moonbounce/petting zoo.
Q I’m a non-profit group, how can I reserve a room?
A All non-profit groups must provide us, at time of reservation, proof of non-profit status. Applicable fees will then be applied.
Q How can I reserve a field?
A Reservations must be done in person at the Parks & Recreation office no less than 3 months in advance. Please note that City programs and co-sponsored youth organizations have priority.
Q Do I have to pay for security?
A Yes Park Rangers or Montebello Police Officers are required for events with alcohol and/or attendance of 65 people or more. Applicable fees will be applied.
