Holiday Collection Schedule

Athens will observe the holidays listed below.  Collection days will be one day late following each holiday when the holiday falls on a weekday (Monday – Friday).

Bulky Item Special Pick-Up

The City of Montebello and Athens Services will conduct a special FREE trash pick-up twice a year.  To find out the Special Pick Up dates, please call Athens at 626-336-6100

Please be advised that the single family customers are entitled to unlimited bulky item pick-up at no additional charge only on the special pick up dates specified by Athens Services.

Athens Disposal Service will remove such items as couches, rugs, and other large household items in unlimited quantity.  This is a special pick-up only.  Your normal rubbish will be removed on your regularly scheduled day.

Bushes, branches, lumber, etc. must be tied in bundles no longer than 4 feet in length.  Unframed plate glass larger than 2 square feet must be broken and put into trash cans for safe handling.  All items to be collected must be placed at the curb or alley on Friday evening.

IMPORTANT: Do not put out any hazardous material including paints, motor oils, or house chemicals of any type.  Tires, refrigerators, stumps, logs, and steel pipe over four inches in diameter and over four feet long will not be accepted.
